This is meant to be a coherent guide to building your own Plex Media Server with content you can share with friends. This is intended for people who want to create a sharing server.

A media server that gave a large plethora of content over an easy streaming service to friends? Sign me up! During COVID I really started to play around with Plex for my own sanity… and it turned out that a lot of my friends also needed it for theirs. Now of course I don’t condone anyone to do anything that is not legal. Plex is an amazing piece of software that lets anyone create their own mini-Netflix clone.
